X-Project is an X-Men movieverse RPG on Livejournal. Set after X2, we've been running since May 2003 and use a combination of in-character journals and email/IM logs. There's a number of settings for a range of play, whatever your preference, and while we accept new characters we strongly encourage people to adopt one of our orphans.

Check out the Wiki and the advertising community to see what's available. Readers are highly encouraged! If you're looking for X-Men based entertainment, X-Project welcomes you to read along and enjoy the ride!

The USN and USAF are phasing out the F14.

Good riddance - for each hour up in the air they needed fifty on the ground in repairs. Bird was crap, but it was _iconic_ crap. Now only the Iranians will be flying them.

There's a certain amount of irony there.

I'm buying the new Pride FC PPV on Sunday.

Unbreakable. Looks like a pretty good card this time around.

Josh Barnett vs Kazuhiro Nakamura
Quentin Jackson vs Dong Sik Yoon
Jon Olav Einemo vs Fabricio Werdum
Pedro Rizzo vs Roman Zentsov
Sergei Kharitonov vs Alistair Overeem
Mauricio "Shogun" Rua vs Mark Coleman
Mark Hunt vs Yosuke Nishijima
Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira vs Kiyoshi Tamura
Tsuyoshi Kosaka vs Mario Sperry

Anyone wants to watch, I'm going to commandeer one of the big TVs. May also take notes, but that's just me. Get some food, some drinks, and watch the fights. A pleasant way to spend a Sunday, I think.

Subject: The holidays

Do you/we have any plans for the holiday, or are we playing this one down low and staying here? Admittedly I did put myself in Medical for a day or so, but I'm OK now. Really.

And I'd so love to smack Cain, if I didn't know full-well that doing so would just earn me a broken wrist.

x_jetstream: (Mmmm. Soft.)
Belay that.

It's MUCH better today. The heat has been turned up, I'm actually comfortable for once, and I ran through my entire stretching regimen today without nearly so much as a twinge.

I'm a bit tired, but it's all worth it and then some.

It's going to be a _good_ day today.

Carry on.

Team's back from the wilds of Africa, and I'm having the worst mobility day I've had in ... weeks. And it's _cold_ up here.

Allah gives, and Allah takes away.

I hate my life.

And I miss my home.

Got my access codes restored to the public journals. A thank-you to Scott and Hank for taking care of that little detail for me.

I'm ... OK. Not great, but considering that I should be dead, I'll take my current condition as a vast improvement.

I owe a heartfelt thank-you to the Medical staff, plus to Forge, Paige, Doug, and Kitty. Without them, I would not be contemplating physiotherapy to regain the use of my new artificial legs, but instead be looking at life as a parapalegic.

And for the Medical staff themselves - words alone cannot convey the depths of my gratitude. I would be diseased, dead, and buried long ago without their heroic efforts on my behalf. Thank you. Bless you.

Bless you all. Allah looks upon your works and smiles.

I ... I do not have the words to express how I feel. I have been granted a third chance at life, and I do not intend to squander it.

PS - Kylun, if you get a couple of moments to spare, I want to talk to you. About your warrior's heart, the traditions and spirituality of your people. We have not done enough of that, focusing instead on the mechanics, the graceful violence at which we both excel.

Alison and I are spending a day _out_. Unless Magneto shows up or some other dire emergency happens - don't bother us.

Catch you all tomorrow!

I've got a small collection of the kids, and we're going to the Warped Tour festival. Be gone all day.

Usual contact protocols apply. Don't wait up.

Here's the plan:

You wear comfortable clothing.
You bring two bottles of water _each_. I'll bring a great deal of Gatorade as well as medical supplies. The Pit is a rough place - if you're going to mosh, be prepared to get hurt.
NO POWERS! At all! Anyone caught causing a scene gets to experience my displeasure as well as Professor Xavier's.
Meet me in the Garage at 7AM.
Get ready to ROCK!

x_jetstream: (Weight of the World)
Although we all knew it was coming ... the last true (fictional) engineer has beamed himself out. When I came to the US, Brainy got me hopelessly hooked on the original show. Didn't care too much for the relaunches and the remakes.

Ya know, I've got a red shirt around here somewhere...
x_jetstream: (It keeps the sand and sun out!)
I walk into my room today, and the front room is decorated as close as possible to something I would see back home!

This is what I get for playing three games of chess with Miles in a row.

If anyone needs me, I'll be sprawled out in the middle of the floor, basking.

Alison played shutterbug. I think I like the new pictures, and since she WILL NOT STOP NAGGING ME until I upload them, here they are.

The comments are all mine. The pictures are all her.

When are your new ones going up, dear?

Just got done with very early-morning T'ai Chi. It's still slow-motion posing with very limited combat applicability, but you know what? It's a good stretch and wellness thing, and that's just about perfect right now. Now that I think about it, if you sped a lot of it _up_ but still maintained that balance of soft and hard, it might not totally suck out on the street.

Flight students - we're going to review some film today. Forge, make sure you bring in that new batch of film you took - I want the winged folks to analyze their flight patterns.

Arabic students - review class today. I expect you all to come to class with questions, since judging by the last set of quiz grades there must be a lot of things that don't make much sense.

Shiro: I'm going to have to put the active part of our class on hold for now. I still expect to see you in the Gym at 8PM sharp, but it's going to be solo work for a time. Sorry, man. Make it up to you once my back heals a little more? Should only be a week or two.

X-Men Trainees: Email in your inboxes shortly with a curriculum and where you can acquire a little light reading. I'm available for questions, or you can pester Scott, Hank, Sam, or Ororo. They've all had the material you'll be learning, so pick their brains, people.

#1) Find an antihistimane that works with my physiology. Apparently I am allergic to cats. Who knew? Moira? Can I impose on you to help find something that will work? At least for as long as that purple cat-thing will be staying at the Mansion?

#2) Arabic students: I apologize in advance if your tests are a little - discolored. And/or ripped in places. See point #1.

#3) Air filters. The stronger the better. Will help with Sulfur Central, and will also get the cat dander out of my room. And my clothes. Must acquire ASAP.

What a _wonderful_ day I'm having.

Given the extreme exhaustion of one professor, and the injuries of the other, there will be no Dance classes until further notice.

I will be in Medlab holding inpromptu office hours for the remainder of this week. There will be no formal class - use the time to pair off and work on grammar. This Friday is an exam, don't forget. The material on the test is available in your inboxes. Assuming that the test goes well, on Nov 14th I will be hosting a banquet for all of my students to celebrate the end of Ramadan.

Bring your appetites, and it might do well to brush up on meal etiquette and food-words.

Ramadan is a holy month to Muslims. I won't be joining anyone for meals during the day, as for the entire month I will be fasting from sunup to sundown.

I saw that dirty look, Madelyn. I'll be good and come down for regular checkups. But this is important to me.

If anyone has any questions, please feel free to wander by and ask. I'd be happy to discuss it. It is a time of reflection for me, a time to look back at the previous year and see what kind of a man I have been, and what sort of a man I want to be moving forward into the New Year.

Arabic class students - we'll be spending a good bit of time on language and culture during Ramadan. With a special surprise at the end of the segment. Trust me, you'll like it.

I found one outside my door. Black muscle shirt, appropriately enough.

It says this: "...And You Say Psycho Like It's a Bad Thing"

I have to admit, I'm amused. But only faintly.
